People often say the DJ will make or break the reception. This is so true.

We initially had another DJ, but five weeks out from our wedding, my fiance went to a wedding he did and said it was awful. I panicked, but that was when we found Chris. After talking with him, we knew immediately we wanted him to be our DJ.

After our first face-to-face meeting only a week before the wedding, we felt very confident in Chris and were very excited. We told him exactly what we want. We're both young and wanted our reception to really have a party atmosphere where everyone danced. We had people of all ages present.

Leading up to the wedding, Chris was very open to last minute changes and responded to emails quickly. He was very helpful in figuring out little details concerning the reception. He made it very clear that he would listen to anything we needed.

The day of he was AWESOME. He was there and set up on time. The music he played during desert set the mood nicely. While we were going around talking to people, he came up and let us know it was getting late, and that we should probably cut the cake soon. It was nice to have Chris keep things on track. For the toasts, he handed a mic to the best man and maid of honor unnoticed.

The music was great. He listened to all our requests, and blended songs seamlessly together. People of all ages danced all night. My dad danced quite a bit, which is very impressive for a man who never dances. There were a couple times when my husband and I stopped dancing and Chris would come and check on us and make sure we were still doing well. We both had such a great time.

After the wedding, we got so many comments. Everyone loved Chris and many said it was the most fun wedding they had ever been too. His accent is great and everyone thought he talked just the right amount of time.

A DJ makes or breaks the reception. If you want a fun reception, I cannot recommend Chris highly enough. You will be so glad you went with him!

Last night, my wife, Maria, and I finally had a chance to enjoy an evening out together. With the kids off in different directions, we had a rare chance for some grown up conversation and a “grown up dinner.” We decided on The Sandbar Restaurant as it was such a nice evening out and we wanted to watch the sun set over the Gulf. We could not have asked for nicer evening – the ocean breeze, the bright orange sun disappearing behind the aquamarine water, it can't get much better. At that point, I realized how fortunate I was to be with the girl of my dreams.

"If you are in the early stages of planning a destination wedding and if you are looking at, or have already decided that Anna Maria Island is the place for your destination wedding then use this as a resource. Anna Maria Island is known as the wedding capital of the Gulf coast.

Chris Grumley is a husband, dad, dj, amateur photographer, voice over guy and fitness freak. If he had to write something about himself, it would take far too long, hardly contain any information and would leave you wondering. As it is, Chris saw sense and let me do this bit. Who I am bears absolutely no significance, I just know him really well and I speak the truth.

Chris is a regular guy but he has a talent, or should I say talents. He's a fabulous DJ and is requested to host the biggest event on Anna Maria island, Bayfest, every October. Bayfest draws a crowd of between five and 10,000 people and is a sight to behold. Chris is also batch booked by a busy and very smart wedding event planner. They might, at any given time, book Chris with four or even five dates, giving themselves one less thing to worry about whilst keeping this DJ very busy.

Chris is also a voice over guy with one really unique talent that is built in. When Chris speaks he sounds believable. That's simplicity itself, he doesn't have to try, it just comes naturally. I'm analyzing that talent with a marketing background, because, if I had a message to get out to the masses, wouldn't it be better to have a voice that was naturally believable delivering said message?

Chris also takes pictures. They are not the kind of pics we generally like to see, unless we are buying a house. Chris takes pictures for real esate and markets property for Realtors.

At the end of the day, you have many choices to make over who takes the pictures, bakes the cake, provides the flowers, prints the invitations etc. You really don't have to think to long about who you want to have DJ your wedding, because, in all honesty, if you want it done right, if you want the best night and want to dance yourself dizzy, you want an DJ that makes sense of the whole event, you want Chris Grumley."

There's something real about running and it's difficult to explain. I'm not seasoned, I am a recent convert to the act of pushing yourself out of the door into what is already 78 degree still air. I started, with a good friend of mine, with an app called C25K, (couch to five k if you need it breaking dowb;)) We are now at 25 minutes without a break after a five minute warm ou. We started with a 60 second jog followed by a three minute break initially, so we fee we have come a long way...

I have subscribed to runners world magazine for the longest time, without ever feeling the urge to lace up my shoes, but the app was way to interesting and I had to look and see. It was definitley the key to our early foray, the interval way forward, and now I'm using a different app and I feel liberated. I read a sign/poster of Pinterest and it carried the Nike swoosh. It said, "Just do it... Even if you suck, just do it." That's about where I am right now, but it's getting better ;)

One of the best things about our schedule is the fact that it gets me up and out of bed early. The sun is just about waking up as I head out the door and it's on it's way up as we come down hell road, (I'll save that for later). I have my iPhone with me becuase my music is on there and I can take pictures during our cool down. Taking a picture of the sun rising after completing a 25 minute jog/shuffle feels great.

A DJ's life in parardise...

There's something unique that you can't quite put your finger on about Anna Maria Island. It's like nowhere else on Earth and if there is ever going to be a time for me to leave this place, it will be a sad day. Three completely different cities, nestled into a one mile wide by seven miles long sand bank. Who is there to even tell us that we shouldn't really have made this our home, and it's been home to many since the early settlers at the turn of the 2oth century.
